    Description Our client is looking for a dynamic, creative individual to join our team as a Senior User Experience Designer in our Seattle,WA locations. This is a 3-month contract positon. Our client enables authors and publishers to reach readers worldwide in print and digital formats. This team is at the center of the creative disruption that is happening in the publishing world and we are reinventing the relationship between writers and readers. This is your chance to make history in a rapidly-growing fast-paced environment of independent publishing. Position Overview The User Experience Designer will be responsible for all aspects of UX. A keen eye for design, excellent understanding of user experience and web technologies is a must. The UX Designer will work closely with the Product Management Team and the Development teams to assure business requirements come to life in a timely and engaging manner. The right candidate will be able to convert business requirement inputs into superior user experiences. This position requires strong creative and technical skills, as well the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders. The candidate will need to engage with multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills and an ability to work in an unstructured environment. The User Experience Designer will be an advocate for the Indie authors customer experience and will innovate on behalf of the customer. They will need to present solid rationale for design decisions and exhibit strong backbone in gracefully defending those designs. Job Responsibilities -Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings -Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements -Design the UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences -Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes -Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns -Present design work for review and feedback. -Collaborate effectively with an agile, multi-disciplinary team to evaluate the feasibility of proposed designs and champion great UX in the face of technical constraints. -Define, articulate, evangelize, and integrate the role of design within the organization. -Set and maintain brand, design and tone guidelines for the entire company -Drive the design review cycle and bring closure to design requirements independently -Manage on-going relationships with external design/editing resources as needed. Basic Qualifications -Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experienc. -At least 7 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role, and using a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver. Preferred Qualifications -An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions and UI design expertise is a requirement for application -Proven track record presenting to and influencing senior management -Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs -Relevant work experience in the publishing, and/or content distribution industries -Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash ***ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED ***NO 3RD PARTY RESUMES WILL BE ACCEPTED
