Community Guidelines

As an online community of intelligent and experienced professionals, we host a variety of diverse opinions. We welcome this diversity, and ask that all of our users adhere to these simple guidelines to make OnContracting a place for everyone to benefit (in addition to the Terms and Privacy Policy listed):

  • Not verified--- Please note that OnContracting does not verify the feedback or other information posted.
  • Be real-- Client or vendor company reviews that appear to have been submitted by someone other than an actual or prospective contractor will not be posted. Bill rates that appear to be highly improbable and not supported by generally available information will not be posted.
  • Be honest and direct— A helpful review often includes details or insights that can only come from a contractor or recruiter who's been there. All reviews must come from a current or former employees that have worked with the client company or vendor recently.
  • Cover broad areas with specifics — We ask you to think about your contract from a few perspectives. For example talk about
    • How they found you and how the interviews went?
    • If you were presented with sufficient and good opportunities- that matched your expectations?
    • How you were treated by the client and/or vendor?
    • What type of benefits were offered- are there tips, gotchas?
    • Did you enjoy it or hate the project?
    • Will you do it again?
    • Pros, Cons, tips on what could make it better
  • Be nice — We're trying to encourage constructive sharing of feedback about the contract, so posts that include malicious or defamatory personal attacks (by name, title, or association) or are intended to spread rumors or incite reactions from other users will not be approved.
  • Don't be bad — We realize you could you have had  a bad experience (research shows these are the most common reasons for reviews on sites), but it could also be an exception that the rule so don't flip. Reviews that include venting, obscenities, or aggressive or discriminatory language will not be approved.
  • Don't share confidential stuff you shouldn't — Posts that offer company trade secrets, information protected by copyright, or any other information you are contractually prevented from disclosing will not be approved. If its marked confidential it clearly is not for sharing. One way to think of if it is OK to share is to think 'Would my Manager be OK if I told my friend about this?"

We appreciate your feedback and willingness to help others from your experience. We appreciate your compliance with these guidelines. While we are devoted to free speech, we reserve the right to remove posts that do not respect these guidelines or that detract significantly from our users' experience on the site. Failure to comply with any of these guidelines may also result in the temporary or permanent loss of posting privileges.
