Description | This STE will own feature-level testing for sports applications on our clients gaming console. Build test models, write and run test cases, and publish test passes as appropriate for partner test teams. Write/run test automation scripts using testing tools where applicable. Log bugs, utilize testing tools to set up preconditions and gather diagnostic info, and analyzes and reports on feature quality. Coordinate and report on soak testing scenarios and ad-hoc testing sessions. Perform regression testing and halo testing around code changes. Perform detailed analysis of test results and adjust test cases accordingly. Works with leads, developers and/or program managers to troubleshoot failures or triage to the appropriate level. There are definitely opportunities to pick up new skills on this team on the path to coding & automation, for someone who is driven and self-motivated. Examples include: Becoming familiar with our feed data formats (xml & json) with the potential to write some code around parsing them Using Fiddler to manipulate service calls made from, and data passed back to, our client. This can range from basic stuff done through the UI, to more complicated manipulations done through javascript. Using Lua (another scripting language) to create automation on the client. Learning and leveraging new tools that we will be required to run against the new platform testing against it is uncharted territory! The client is currently training on how to use Clarity (their test case tool) a real focus on better engineering of their test cases to make them more efficient to execute, more resilient to design changes, etc. This is an area where the right candidate could step in and really provide leadership as well.
