Expedia has a good work life balance. Most workers on the tech side work around 8 or 9 hrs a day. The work force is young, diverse, friendly, and intelligent. It is possible to work from home occasionally. Bellevue downtown is becoming a really nice place to work. restaurants, shopping, mall. The travel discounts for full time employees are great- try to friend someone. If you love travel and technology, the tech side of Expedia is a great fit. The pay scale for contractors is less than Amazon but higher than Microsoft.
Good place for Java developers to work on a large scale web property. Rates are probably better than at most places. Nice Bellevue downtown location, Pretty good chance of converting to full-time if you prove yourself.
