Worked as a contract employee for Pactera at a desirable company in Redmond. Recommended to my friends. Benefits are OK.
I was an employee of Pactera in Mountain View. The work was good. They paid on time and resolved problems OK. Fine
The job security of Pactera is what drew me to it. The compensation package has been good as was the year-end bonus. The management don’t interfere with day to day running and so if you are good in work, you can go far. The office politics is also minimum though the company needs to better its internal communication. We sometime find out important news through hearsay rather than official channel.
As a consulting firm, Pactera is good. They have great client base and I have the chance to work for companies like Microsoft. Love the fact that their new on-site facility is in Microsoft main campus.
The US leadership of Pactera needs to be overhauled if the company wants to retain good people. Many of my colleagues have worked out in recent times because they felt the new management lacked vision and experience. The worst part is, the company really harassed them while they left with the non-compete issue, even if they joined industries that were in no way competition to Pactera.
Working with Pactera is good but I hate the time I have spent for extracurricular work. The worst is, the management expects that of you and you will be sidelined if you don’t give it. Sure you will be compensated for that, but they are seldom what you have been promised.
I have working with the company before the merger, and so far find that the merger has been good. Some of the old employees were let go but those who proved to be diligent workers had no problem. The client base has improved since which means great chance of improving your career. The health plans have also become better and so has the earning opportunity. But be ready to give in extra hours apart from your regular hours as the senior management expects that.
Working for Pactera means working for a global company. I can also work from home which helps me to balance my work and life. You can built great professional network as you will be working with industry leaders like Microsoft or Expedia. The company headquarter is in China, so it takes time for new approvals. This needs to change if they want their US business wing to grow more.
