Was referred to Milestone Technologies for a short term gig in Palo Alto. Went OK. Pay was low but needed the money and it helped.
Milestone is good smaller sized staffing agency with a great client list in Silicon Valley. Btw- a staffing agency acts on behalf of its clients so if you are laid off it is likely that their client Cisco or Facebook ended the project. There's no point in blaming them - they would love to have the project go on for ever. If the recruiter hid information about the short-term nature of the project to rope you in, that would be unethical.
A friend who worked there referred me to Milestone Technology, after I applied and didn't hear back from Adecco, Aerotek and many of the other biggest staffing agencies in the Mountain View/Palo Alto area. The recruiter at Milestone was very pleasant and helpful and seemed to care. Hidden gem- I would highly recommend them if you are looking for support roles and want the personal touch of a small company. Regarding what the other poster said- take the best experience out of contract jobs - it is a short term arrangement between you and the company. DON'T expect long term career prospects in staffing companies as they are by nature not meant to be a long term solutions but stepping stones to your career.
Didn't care much for the low rate. Rest was fine
Got a great contract gig at Google through MILESTONE TECH. Frankly didn't expect to make the cut because I heard they have a very high hiring bar. However, they don't care much about your background but at your raw smarts and if you can get the job done so go with a positive can-do attitude and anything is possible.
I was hired for a project and got laid off after 3 months. Thought they'd find me something else but they didn't.
Milestone Technology is one of the few staffing companies that offers interesting work/jobs in high-tech in Chico. I am glad to have got experience there and now managed to move to the Bay Area and found a permanent job with a great company.
