    Description Covestic is actively seeking a Storage Engineer with experience in Production and Pre-Production environment support. This role is an individual contributor reporting to the manager, Infrastructure Operations, and service relationships with other technology groups. As a Storage Engineer you are responsible for daily administration of the storage infrastructure supporting database servers, SAN / NFS / DAS storage administration, and documenting processes and architecture to support regulatory compliance. The role is also provides*on-call support for Production, Pre-Production, and Corporate*environments. Responsibilities: Daily administration of storage infrastructure Monitoring logs and ensuring Database Servers have appropriate storage allocations Establishing KPI's and thresholds for proactive monitoring of storage environment Measuring and reporting storage capacity, availability, reliability and performance Providing after hours, on-call*support for production and pre-prod environment outages Required Skills / Experience: 2+ years of progressively increasing scope of responsibilities in storage related roles; experience with IBM Storage hardware*with Internet operations or database applications focus. 5+ years on a server administration role within a mid-large corporate environment Bachelors degree in Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience Detailed knowledge of storage technologies, (e.g., SAN, NAS, DAS, replication, virtualization) Familiar with archival/backup technologies and best practices System Administration experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems Prior experience working in an environment support organization and being on-call for production issues Strong knowledge of scripting languages and tools Ability to document Engineering Specs from conceptual design through implementation through implementation of physical infrastructure Self motivating - does not require manager guidance or direction on a daily basis Strong communication, teamwork and collaboration skills
