    Description
    Covestic is currently seeking several Senior Software Engineers. This team will be chartered with developing product proof-of-concepts and architecture integration that will support various industry segments. We are focused on cloud-based API management and we are building out API frameworks in a SCRUM environment. Our development environment will be cloud-based (Amazon Web Services) and the work will be developed with Java/J2EE on AWS. The team will perform Test Driven Development and peer programming through development.



    We will be hiring a team with diverse skill sets with various knowledge and/or experience with open source tools and frameworks.

    Skills Required:

    • Strong core Java background -- language, runtime, and internals.

    • Experience in multi-threaded server side Java programming and design.

    • Knowledge/experience in the use of the Spring Framework, Hibernate and Web Services.

    • Knowledge/experience in the use of Jira, Eclipse, Maven, and JUnit tools.

    • Deep understanding of SOA/modular architectures

    Combination of Knowledge/Experience preferred:

    • Networking protocols and socket programming

    • Experience developing highly available/redundant software

    • Knowledge of software development methodologies

    • Experience with distributed communication cloud environments

    • Knowledge and/or experience in one or more of OSGi, Apache Camel/CXF/Karaf

    • Experience in the use of database software preferably NoSQL and/or Oracle within development projects

    • MongoDB and/or Cassandra
