LinkedIn hires contractors for several positions including recruiting, customer service, software development and testing, sales, marketing, finance and administrative assistants.
To find a contract gig at LinkedIn you would need to connect with the staffing agencies listed above as these jobs are not publicly advertised. LinkedIn circulates these positions to its preferred staffing agencies and they in turn source and submit candidates to the Managers. Once selected you will be on the payroll of the staffing agency but report to work at LinkedIn. This is a good way to get your foot in the door at LinkedIn and get some solid experience on your resume. It also helps to convert into a full-time position if you have prior experience and know the workings of the company and are familiar with its internal tools, etc.

Like most tech companies the chances of converting from contract to fulltime depends on the group and type of skills. The non-core temprorary jobs are meant to be contract and won't convert typically. Recruiting, HR, Marketing support and other peripheral groups have a higher proportion of contractors converting to full-time. Software Engineering is the hardest as the bar for contractors vs fulltime is pretty significant.
Linkedin does hire interns through its college recruiting program. Part-time and remote - we are unsure about.

Linkedin has smart people as employees and since it is a leader - it tends to still attract hungry and ambitious people unlike some other giant companies in the bay area. Got an instruction design gig through a staffing agency- experience was great and opened my eyes to even better opportunities.
Linkedin is right up there with Google and Facebook for contract jobs. Just make sure you negotiate with you staffing agency. Know that there are nultiple agencies with access to the same jobs, So don't be in a hurry and take the first offer you get.
Nice location, nice jobs, nice pay- freelancing at Linkedin is great way to get a break into the Silicon valley tech cartel.
